Reception
Reception is your first point of contact with the practice. Even in this digital age, it’s much nicer to speak to a friendly, analog voice on the phone than to navigate through a menu. And let’s not forget our senior citizens who don’t have smartphones or computers. They also need a way to schedule appointments.
You can find all the contact information for the practice here!
Please note: We are available by phone Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Outside of these hours, please send an email to praxis@oxidio.de!
Reception is pure stress!
The receptionists are under considerable stress. Just imagine the following scenario:
- A patient comes out of a treatment room and needs four follow-up appointments.
- At the same time, another patient arrives for a new registration with all the necessary paperwork.
- A third patient wants to schedule a preventative care appointment.
- A fourth patient needs a prescription.
- A fifth patient wants to pay a bill.
…and finally, the phone rings.
All of this, of course, happens simultaneously. Yes, you have to be able to handle that. And that’s why I have enormous respect for the women who manage it with such composure.
Please respect!
In addition, there are many things that need to be done at reception. Here’s a brief overview:
- Reception is the communication hub of the practice, especially for telephone and emails.
- All patient data is recorded here.
- The receptionist also coordinates practice procedures, for example, if one practitioner is ahead of schedule while another is behind.
- Card and cash payments are processed and recorded here.
- Ensuring that the reception and patient areas are clean and welcoming.
And most importantly: in the event of a real emergency, reception contacts the police, fire department, or ambulance.
So, if you ever have to wait a bit at reception, now you know why.
